Would you like to hear about the clothing issues I am experiencing today?
I like to wear fitted clothes. Not all tight, but mostly huggy.
What bugs me is pants and skirts that have zippers and buttons and belt loops and quite sturdy bands around the waist that visibly bulge under fitted tops. What a horrid interruption to my smooth lines.
My pants today are the worst for this, so I am wearing a thin, narrow belt to hold it all together, however this comes with issues of its own.
These pants have two belt loops at the hip-bones, and another two just past the hips, and that’s it. These pants NEED A BACK BELT LOOP. Every time I sit down the belt slides up past the top of my pants at the back and I can feel it on my spine-skin.
MY SPINE-SKIN. This is just wrong.
The other issue is my jacket. It is really cold in the office I am working in today, so I brought along my favourite black jacket even though it is quite warm out.
Ah, my favourite jacket, how I love thee. Your front zipper has been broken for several years but who really needs to do a jacket up anyway. You have a hole in the back where a seam has come apart and if I am wearing anything but black underneath you, people from miles around will point it out. You have been more grey than black for quite a while, but I still see you as you used to be. Your sleeve cuffs are so ragged and frayed it is getting ridiculous. Parts of you are much, much thinner than others. The inside of you is all scratched up where mumm’s dog tried to make a nest in you.
I noticed today, favourite jacket, that you are really not appropriate for work any more, and probably haven’t been for about a year. I think I’m grieving a little.
