So, I mentioned the other day that Brenton and I have been TTC… (If you google that acronym a bunch of pregnancy forums will result, indicating that TTC is short for ‘trying to conceive.’ For some reason pregnancy forums are FULL of acronyms you’ve never heard of before: You POS after a TWW and hope for a BFP but if it’s a BFN you CIO before doing the BD again. Seriously.)
I’ve been pregnant twice before, as I’ve probably also mentioned, and each time I knew, approximately two weeks following conception. How, you wonder? Because two weeks following conception is when the embryo began to bury itself into my uterine wall to tap into my blood supply and simultaneously began exuding pregnancy hormones, which caused me to gain a ridiculous amount of weight over the course of 24 hours.
I weighed myself this morning to find that I’ve gained two kilograms in two days.
FURTHERmore, I have a pimple on my jawline. I know for a fact that jawline pimples are caused by hormones. I never get jawline pimples! So I figure it’s defs a pregnancy hormone related breakout.
My breasts are larger and a bit painful (okay that doesn’t count —this often happens when my period is due).
I think my period is due on Wednesday (it’s not terribly regular and my cycle is longer than average but I’m not too sure exactly how much longer). I’ll be able to do a pregnancy test in a week to know for sure (I’m pretty sure that I already know for sure).
The first day of my last period was the 29th of December 2014. That would make me four weeks pregnant, even though I only would have conceived two weeks ago. I guess that’s how they standardise it, there being no definite way of otherwise telling for every woman when she conceived.
I just did a test and it came up negative. The test says it’s 84% effective two days before getting your period, and 53% effective four days before you’re due. How does that help me if I’m not sure when it’s due! Ugh! I guess I have to wait a week to be really sure.
But I don’t want to wait! I want to get drunk now! It’s frickin Australia day!
